The Township Shops Programme, facilitated by Trestlebridge in partnership with the National African Federated Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NAFCOC), is a developmental initiative aimed at supporting township spaza shop owners in the Free State Province. Participation in this programme is voluntary and is subject to the following disclaimer and privacy terms.
1. Disclaimer of Liability
Participation in the Township Shops Programme does not imply any legal or financial guarantee of business success. Trestlebridge and NAFCOC provide resources and support as part of a broader developmental effort but are not responsible for the operational outcomes or profitability of individual shops.
Neither Trestlebridge, NAFCOC, nor any affiliated personnel shall be liable for any loss, injury, damage, or claim arising from or related to participants' business operations or decisions based on the resources, training, or information provided within the programme.
This programme does not create any form of partnership, joint venture, or employment relationship between Trestlebridge, NAFCOC, and participating shop owners.
2. Protection of Personal Information (POPIA Compliance)
Collection and Use of Information: By participating in the Township Shops Programme, participants consent to the collection, use, and processing of their personal information, which may include business names, contact details, operational locations, and other business-related information.
Purpose of Information Collection: Personal information is collected for the purposes of registration, eligibility verification, communication, programme administration, and reporting to relevant stakeholders. This information will be used solely for these specified purposes.
Disclosure of Information: Personal information will not be shared with third parties without the explicit consent of participants, except where required by law or as part of necessary programme management, such as reporting to NAFCOC or municipal authorities.
Data Security: Trestlebridge and NAFCOC are committed to safeguarding the privacy of participants. All personal information will be stored securely and will only be accessible to authorized personnel directly involved in programme administration.
Right to Access and Correction: Participants have the right to access their personal information and request corrections or updates where necessary. Requests for access or correction can be submitted in writing to Trestlebridge’s designated privacy officer.
Retention and Destruction: Personal information will be retained only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected or as required by applicable law. Upon completion of the programme or termination of participation, data will be securely destroyed in accordance with Trestlebridge’s data retention policy.
3. Amendment of Terms
Trestlebridge and NAFCOC reserve the right to amend this disclaimer and privacy policy as necessary to comply with legal updates or programme requirements. Notice of any changes will be provided to participants in writing or through official communication channels.
4. Consent and Acknowledgment
By participating in the Township Shops Programme, participants acknowledge that they have read and understood this disclaimer and privacy notice, and they consent to the collection, processing, and secure handling of their personal information as outlined.
